Last Assignment for 7th and 8th Grade

For your last assignment, you will be doing a written book review or oral booktalk on a book you have already read. Those students who chose to do a picture book will be required to do a book review.

If you choose to write a book review, you will need to include the following information:

• a partial plot summary (no spoilers)
• two facts about the book's author
• whether or not you would recommend the book and why
• should be a minimum of two paragraphs

If you choose to give an oral booktalk,  you will follow the order below:

• give one fact about the author that relates to the book
• give the plot's summary*
• choose a pivotal scene to read aloud (no spoilers)
• tell the class whether or not you would recommend the book and why

* hint: this is often found on the back of the book or inside the book's jacket
